Business needs

Need a modern looking portal which reflects the values and standards of the company. Redesign the user-flows and system architecture to ensure that super user tasks are executed easily, without repetition.

Discovery Phase Highlights

  • Super users have to manage/ assign/ courses and policies to various staff members, which is a tedious and time consuming process
     

  • Updating end user privileges have to be done individually and manually
     

  • Super Users find it very difficult to use the platform and usually have to go through the demos repeatedly
     

  • The platform looks outdated when compared to other competitor platforms

Project Brief

The brief for this project was to:

  • Recreate the system and information architecture of the platform ensuring easy navigation and less friction
     

  • Introduce automation of tasks for the admin roles

  • Redesign the portal for a modern look and feel

  • Redesign the user flows involving creating new courses and surveys in the system

Persona Ecology

 

The interactions between the various roles on the platform were creating complex and repetitive flows. To resolve this, we had to understand how information was transferred on and off the platform. The ecology map helped us in identifying dependencies shared amongst the various user roles.

Personas

 

Personas helped us in identifying the pain points, delights and expectations of our user roles. They help us in validating our solutions and act as milestones in the design journey.

User Journey

 

The user journey helps us in identifying areas within the portal where we have an opportunity to improve the interaction or the experience for the selected user.

Wireframes

 

Primary understanding about the platform and interviews with the users were translated into high level wireframes and framework sketches which helped in plotting the various sections and elements on the screens.

 

Visual Designs

 

The finalized wireframes were translated into detailed visual designs with the aid of visual guidelines which reflected the tone of the organization.
